I currently own and use a Rover mini-Hydro with a 30" cut with mulcher and have had that for 5 years. It has done a brilliant job but have had to have it serviced for regular servicing and has replaced 3 belts over that time. On average it uses around 5 litres of petrol each time I use it. I was looking for a cheaper and quieter way of mowing and decided to look at the battery ride on mowers on the market in Australia. I did a lot of internet searching, and reading reviews on other mowers and there was a severe lack of information on the Baumr ride ons.
It was a calculated risk, but I bought the Baumr AG 30 only after looking around at the other electric battery mowers on the market, Ryobi, Toro, CUB etc. I looked at the availability of spare parts, replacement batteries and the warranties of each. While the other mowers had a longer warranty periods the cost for the replacement parts was way dearer than this mower. So after considering the price and build quality I took a punt, and bought this one. I picked it up from the Seven Hills warehouse as shipping was extremely dear. The crate fitted within a standard trailer and was secured for the trip home. Getting it off the trailer was interesting, because this unit weights a lot, I had help to slide and lift the back off and then carefully place on the ground, with the trailer being moved after a friend helped me lift up the front and placed directly down on the ground.
Then proceeded to remove the packaging, and after watching the build video several times previously, I added an extra process, removing the front crate poles so to remove all obstacles when driving the mower off the crate. I was lucky as I already had ramps.
The mower was then charged overnight and used the next day mowing. My yard is a mix of suburban backyard, frontyard and verge, with a area of reserve mowed at the rear, all up roughly over1000m2 with large sections (600m2) on a 10% slope. I only use the mulching function of the mower, as was extremely happy with the results. Grass was dry but approximately 3-4" high.
The mower was then driven back into the shed and placed on charge, with the charger starting at 52% after a full charge the day before. The reverse beeping is annoying and is the loudest part of the mowing process, but it mows well in reverse when you have the button pre pressed to do so.
The only issue I had was the lights on the mower didn’t work, but Edisons are in the process of sending me a replacement module to refit to fix the issue. It is a very minor issue in my view, but none the less that’s what it was like out of the box.
The Baumr AG 30's turning circle is way better than the Rover Hydro and mows faster in reverse, but the delay when pressing the foot pedal to reverse is annoying, the Rover is instant the Baumr is not. But then the Toro I tested had the same issue. Its not a deal breaker, but something to get used to, it’s a different process and machine to operate. I am expecting the better access to get to the mower blades will make changing and sharpening the blades easier and less of a problem. I have always cleaned the mower with a blower, and it was just as easy to clean the deck on the Baumr.
The deck clearance makes getting on and off the mower fairly easy, not so with the Toro mower. So if you have some mobility or back issues consider the access to getting on the mower. One thing I didn’t like was the extent the pedal has to be pushed to move the mower, not as comfortable as the toro or Cub (which is exactly same as Hydro). The steering wheel is more upright, which is very different to the Ryobi which points more to the driver and for a big bloke makes the gut/steering wheel clearances and comfort level less tolerant. The Toro was also comfortable to sit and drive. All in all the Baumr AG30 is a capable ride on. The proof will be down the track after a year or two of extensive regular mowing and maintenance.
On paper and with available specifications it offers Bang for Bucks.

This isn't a review but looking for some feedback on this mower from people that have owned it for a while. There is very little long term owner feedback. Appreciate unbiased feedback.

Allo, Allo, I love driving my little tank. It's my first ride-on ever. The previous owners left us their old petrol one, but I bought this electric one, because it's quiet (happy neighbours) and has no fumes and does all two acres before re-charging. Easy to assemble and drive and turn. No pulleys/belts. Seat is a bit stiff - extra suspension and cushioning would improve its comfort. Nice cutting action, too.

Purchased this mower on the 26th April 2022, I mow a duel block of about 1500sq mths. I find this mower fantastic for mowing , a very neat cut and easy to control and drive, the safety features are great so you really can’t get into trouble.
